This Day in WW2 (24 August)



  • On 24 - 25 August 1942, third carrier battle of WW2 took place. During the Battle of the Eastern Solomons, Japanese carrier Ryujo was sunk and USS Enterprise was badly damaged during the battle.

  • On 24 August 1944, allied forces began the attack on Paris
